Is Having An Online Store Easier?

“Isn’t being online like so much easier then having a store?” Said so many people before they discovered that….

I confess, I made this mistake with my first business. “If you build it they will come” Yeah not so much…

There is so much “noise” online today so we need to stand out and drive traffic into our websites. How do you do that?

It’s not as hard as you may think! In today’s video I share with you insider tips on ranking better and how you can drive people into your website.

One of the most common questions I get asked is “I have built my online store and now I need to drive people to it, how do I DO that?”

People think that being online is easy, less stock, less employees, less overheads but for the same money and people just find you like globally. When started my first business I thought once I created the website the customers would just come. I soon learnt that this IS NOT the case.

If anything you have more competition and there is much more noise. I had to learn about the Internet and how it works FAST. You don’t need an elaborate website with lots of cool graphics and content because Google will not find you and will not like you. Yes your website needs to “on” brand and look good but it must to clear and user friendly. Here are some things you can do to help with your Google ranking.

  • Research your keywords- what are people typing into Google, Yahoo, Bing etc to find your product. The use those words all through out your website.
  • Update your content regularly because Google likes it when you do that, that’d why a lot of people blog.
  • Trial Google Adwords and see if you get any improvements or you can look at getting someone to SEO your site for you. Shop around though because some of them as rip offs and super dodgy! But there are some awesome ones as well.
  • Look at your lead generation: where does your target market hang out, go find them and build a relationship with them. Think of it as dating, you need to romance them first! Don’t get ahead of yourself and go in for the hard sell.
