How To Understand Your Customers

I think of customers like acting, you need to understand their backstory to have substance in their experience.

Think of acting, you get given a character that then helps tell a story. The actor has to create a back-story or history about that character so the audience knows what motivates the character to do whatever they do. Without a back-story there is no substance. With no substance the audience con not and does not relate to it.

Your customers are the same, understand their journey and help ease that pain. Talk to them in their voice and show them that you care. You don’t have to wait until their in store or on your website for that to happen…. in fact then it may be too late.
